Outline

It is important to properly define who you are and, by implication, who you are not. This article is a comparison between two terms Netzer and Messianic. This article attempts to show that Netzer is a biblical word and Messianic is a term made in the 1960’s by David Stern. There is nothing wrong with making up terms, it is just that I do not accept the values for whom that label was intended. The values I have are “Two House, One Covenant; Torah Observant and Yeshua Believing” with a strong passion for the law. This is in direct contrast with Messianic Judaism.

I also have fun with the Hebrew roots of the word Netzer which is made up of the letters Noon Tzadik Reysh. I make an argument that it’s like Mat 4:17-19 where Yeshua says Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

Other spellings of this word Netser, Netserim Netzerim

    Introduction

The question to be addressed ==> was Y’shua the Prince of Peace or is it that he will be a prince of peace?
Transcripts from the prophet pearls podcast is used as an opportunity to add my comments on Isa 9:7

    Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father , The Prince of Peace.

After Nehemia Gordon reads Isa 9:7[6] he says "I don't know how you could read that and say it's not about the Messianic Kingdom"

    Funny Quotes

Marsing's Motto is "Nothing, nothing, nothing is more important than your contract/covenant with the Creator of the Universe".It is not "Nothing, nothing, nothing is more important than your theological understanding that Jesus as God will beat up all of the gods of other religions in some imagined theological smack down".

Hearing advocates of antinomian Christianity and Rabbinical Judaism projecting their respective heroes (Jesus and Moses) in some theological ruckus, is a hubbub I could do without. It's like grown men getting excited about fantasy football but with religious players.

    Introduction

It is my contention that all tribes need to be united for the conditions of Pray for the peace of Jerusalem to come to be. A major impediment to this is that the two great religions have an apparent theological impasse…Judaism challenges the claim of Yeshua being the Messiah because they claim he did not bring peace on earth. They say that war still exists and swords have not been beaten into plowshares. The Christians response is this will occur when he returns during the second coming. But is this 1) an accurate claim by Judaism and 2) is the response by Christianity a good one?

To answer this, I thought I would do a little biblical research first by searching for swords and plowshares. I found three but only two are relevant.

    Verses

    • Isa 2:1-9
    • Mic 4:1-8

    My Conclusions

I say that Yeshua is the Prince of Peace, that job and task was completed 2,000 years ago. The verses I quote say they shall beat their swords into plowshares. The work of the Messiah is to enable us to do this with authority, but it is up the Kingdom of Priests to act this out.
