The Quick Verse Search feature is a shortcut designed to lookup verses quickly. This uses the familiar pattern that looks like Deu 6:4-5, or Joh 3:16, except that spaces and colons are replaced with dashes.

Listed below are three examples followed by their respective verses

• Gen-1-2
• Gen-1-2-3
• Gen-1-2-3-4

This will return respectively these verses

• Genesis 1:2
• Genesis 1:2-3
• Genesis 1:2-3:4

Comments

• Three Letter book abbreviations or full names may be used
• Verse ranges are bound to a book
• Verse skipping is NOT allowed (e.g. Gen 1:2, 4, 6)
• The reason only dashes are allowed for separation is because it makes for Pretty or User Friendly URL's. This is good for sharing and manual creation.
